For more than 60 years, Barton & Loguidice, D.P.C. has served the engineering needs of municipal, industrial and institutional clients across the northeast. We are a growing multi-disciplined firm of professional engineers, environmental scientists, planners and landscape architects with offices throughout New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Connecticut and Maine. B&L specializes in transportation engineering, water supply, wastewater management, solid waste management, land planning and site design, environmental services and facilities engineering. We are looking for bright, motivated candidates to join one of the leading consulting engineering firms in the northeast.


We are currently seeking a team-oriented, hard-working, and motivated entry-level Environmental Scientist for a full-time position with our Ecology Group. This position would be based in our Rochester Office.  


Responsibilities will include a mixture of office and field activities (average year results in 75% office, 25% field), and will involve the following: environmental permitting and regulatory assistance and coordination, completing and assisting with field delineations of wetland boundaries, stream restoration data collection, wildlife habitat assessments, vegetative surveys, report writing, environmental review processing and funding support assistance – all on a wide variety of projects predominantly across New York State. Knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations, including SEQRA, NEPA, Clean Water Act, and NYS ECL is beneficial, as is having good vegetation identification skills. 

Requirements

Candidates should have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in an environmental or natural resources discipline. Familiarity with GPS and GIS is desirable. Demonstrated experience in wetland delineation, field data collection, and/or knowledge of environmental regulations is a plus. Applicable internship or summer work experience is desirable and should be detailed on a submitted resume. 


This position requires the ability and willingness to work independently and as part of a larger integrated team, and to conduct work outdoors in varied terrain and weather, as needs arise. Day trips around New York State will be required; overnight trips are infrequent, but sometimes necessary.

Estimated Pay Range: $24-26.50/hour.

Actual compensation may vary based on related work experience, geographical location and market conditions, education/training, certifications, and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
