REVELxp is currently looking for an experienced, creative-minded individual to oversee the design and documentation process for custom projects at indoor and outdoor venues. The Director of Design will have experience in the management of projects, budgets, and teams. This position will report to the SVP of Design and Operations.


Primary duties to include, but not limited to the following:

Project Strategy

  • Collaborate with Venue Solutions leadership to determine best use of resources to support sales strategy
  • Provide project budget and timeline estimates to support accurate project planning
  • Provide cost-benefit analysis when evaluating new equipment investments and/or outsourced equipment rentals and service
  • Advise business development and legal team on contract terms that protect the company and advance business initiatives
  • Ensure project concepts and designs will set the team up for successful future steps in delivery

Project Fulfillment

  • Serve as design point of contact for a portfolio of projects that are architectural in nature and require technical builds or custom equipment design.
  • Communicate directly with clients to verify a finalized project design, contract’s scope, necessary documentation for local jurisdictions, etc.
  • Oversee Venue Solutions design team in development of conceptual designs, schematic design, design document, construction documents and 3rd party professional services, to ensure successful project delivery
  • Integrate with Operations, Warehouses and Production teams to detail successful production plan for custom build projects

Team Management

  • Develop proposed structure and operating plan for team and strategy to achieve strategic direction
  • Ensure team meets project and division goals on time and within budget.

Travel Requirements

  • Site visits, when required for project planning and proposals
  • On-site for builds as needed (particularly to ensure standards are maintained)
  • Department/Corporate structure and planning session


  • Effective communication, organizational, and management skills
  • Previous client relationship management experience
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Proficient in Autodesk Architectural Suite, Autodesk Inventor and/or Other 3D design software
  • Self-motivation that drives individual results while being a strong team player
  • Possess a high energy, strong desire to achieve top results with a charismatic, positive “can-do” attitude
  • Effectively communicate in verbal and written forms
  • Ability to manage and coach various levels of team members
  • Minimum five (5) years of applicable experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university
  • Licensed professional registration in ACE field is not required, but a benefit.
