PBL has immediate openings for full or part time Microbiology Laboratory Analysts in the Microbiology Services Department. The Microbiology Laboratory Analyst will report to Microbiology Management and will contribute to general laboratory testing, sample management, and laboratory maintenance. The Microbiology Laboratory Analyst is expected to participate with the team to meet Microbiology Services Department goals and perform routine laboratory duties as directed.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Performing laboratory testing such as bioburden, HPC, endotoxin, sterility assurance, cleaning and disinfection validation, APE, TOC, conductivity, etc.
  • Performing environmental monitoring, water and critical utility sample collection
  • Ensuring laboratories are clean, safe, and in compliance with cGMP
  • Performing regular inventory of reagents, consumables and materials
  • Cooperate in lab investigations such as OOS and deviation Investigations
  • Additional responsibilities related to job function
Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • An undergraduate or AA degree in a science-related field (e.g., Microbiology, Biological Sciences).
  • 0-3+ years of industry experience in microbiology
  • knowledge of aseptic technique
  • Basic scientific knowledge demonstrated by previous coursework, and/or prior work experience in a scientific/laboratory setting
  • Local candidates (San Francisco Bay Area) preferred

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Must be able to effectively operate in an evolving complex and dynamic environment
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills
  • Must have the ability to work in a team environment with attention to detail and organization
  • Must be able to follow verbal and written direction

The pay range for this position is $55,000 to $73,000 paid on hourly basis excluding overtime. The base pay offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. This position will be eligible for medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k, and other benefits.
