Hospitality Associate for Front Desk-Part Time

Job Summary: The purpose and objective of this position is to greet, register and assign rooms to guests of the Institute in a courteous and professional manner. The Guest Service representative is responsible for furnishing guests with information about daily Institute activities, meetings, schedules, etc.


This is a part time, partial benefit position with 20-25 hours per week. This position will be posted until filled.


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Guest registration (room assignment, payment, special needs, etc.)
  • Guest services (keys, messages, inquiries, etc.)
  • Knowledge and use of Maestro database (daily settlement, payments, room charges, restaurant sales reports, reconciles shift transactions)
  • Administrative duties as required (printing, faxing, copying, etc.)
  • Basic accounting tasks (verify cash bank at start of shift)
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of the Institute’s mission, history, organization and current events


Other Responsibilities:

  • Assist conference services and programs department.
  • Assist with preparing classroom by picking up trash, sweeping floor, and empty trash cans.
  • Position will need to be available to work other hospitality departments.
  • Other duties as assigned


Requirements
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to process multiple tasks at one time
  • Position requires over night shifts, weekends, and some holidays.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional and friendly telephone etiquette
  • Basic computer and switchboard skills

Minimum Requirements:

  • Work Experience: 0-1 years
  • Transportation: Must have reliable transportation to and from Petit Jean Mountain
  • Education: High school diploma or GED, and hospitality related classwork
  • Availability: Must be available to work any shift, 7 days a week

Employee must safely be able to perform the following physical tasks:

  • Sit or stand for entire shift (approx. 8-10 hours), depending on assigned work area
  • Lifting, standing, sitting, bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling, depending on assigned work area
  • Lift minimum of approx. 50 lbs.

Employee must be able to safely tolerate the following environmental factors:

  • Sounds, noises, chemicals, hazards, associated with responsibilities of assigned work area
  • Varying temperatures
  • Use of detergents, soaps, scrubs sanitizers, and hot water or other compounds associated with assigned work area
  • Use of proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required for assigned work area (face masks, gloves, cutting gloves, etc.)
