The Membership Associate is an essential member of the Membership team and is tasked with helping to generate revenue by promoting and administering memberships to guests . The Membership Associate delivers an exceptional customer service experience to visitors, shares information about membership levels, assists visitors in completing membership applications and processes payments.
Essential Functions:
o Initiates and delivers brief presentations to individuals and groups of visitors representing tour, store, and various Foundation constituencies.
o Provides informal direction to visitors seeking tour, program, and/or retail experiences
o Collaborates with retail and tour staff to deliver a seamless customer service experience.
o Facilitates purchase of memberships by completing membership enrollment at various locations onsite at Taliesin West.
o Processes and completes financial transactions.
o Responsible for renewal calls to members and donors.
o Assists the Development team with other cultivation, stewardship activities and membership renewals.
o Other duties as assigned.
This position is part-time seasonal (October-May) with a varied schedule including weekends and evenings up to 24 hours/week. Target salary rate is $16/hour.
Minimum Qualifications:
o High school diploma or equivalent.
o Excellent customer service and communication skills, with high level of comfort in interacting by phone and in person with a diverse audience.
o Attention to detail and ability to multitask as well as ability to work alone or as a member of a team.
o Ability to learn about and accurately convey knowledge of the Foundation's membership program and cultural programs.
o Demonstrated problem solving ability as related to systems, process, and people.
o Precise cash handling and skilled sales background.
o Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings weekend days.
o Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
o Ability to stand for long periods of time and navigate and traverse desert terrain.
o Passion, enthusiasm, focus, creativity and a positive outlook.
o Ability to report to work on time and communicate with supervisor in a timely manner about scheduling needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
o Previous sales and/or fundraising experience.
o Knowledge of and ability to speak about Frank Lloyd Wright and/or Taliesin West under the tenants of the Foundation’s mission.
