Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Director of Pharmacy and Pharmacy Manager, the pharmacy delivery driver plays a crucial role in ensuring timely and safe delivery of medications to patients. They are responsible for transporting medications from pharmacies to hospitals, clinics, and patients' homes. The position requires excellent driving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to customer service. All activities must be performed in accordance with established policies and procedures along with federal and state laws and regulations
Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely and safe delivery of medications to customers
- Verify delivery addresses and obtain necessary signatures upon delivery
- Adhere to traffic and safety regulations while driving
- Communicate effectively with customers and pharmacy staff
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and expenses
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance and report any issues to management
- Assist with pharmacy inventory management as needed
- Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a professional demeanor at all times
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Familiarity with local geography and street names
- Ability to lift and carry heavy boxes, up to 50 pounds
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Familiarity with pharmacy processes and regulations
- Attention to detail and accuracy when handling medications
Physical Requirements:
· Frequent sitting 3-6 hours per day
· Frequent standing 3-6 hours per day
· Occasional hand and wrist deviations (side to side and up and down) 3-6 hours per day
· Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds with assistance
· Close eye work with normal color discrimination
