Senior Accountant (Corporate Financial & Investor Reporting)

Summary

Responsible for the full–cycle general ledger accounting practices for corporate entities, including preparing and recording journal entries, overhead allocations, month-end close and consolidation procedures, preparing general ledger account reconciliations, preparing financial statements, audit assistance, accounting policy preparation, process improvement, and other accounting activities.


Key Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly / quarterly / yearly consolidated balance sheets, income statements, and cash flows (including annual footnotes and management discussion and analysis).
  • Ensure consolidation is performed accurately monthly. Be knowledgeable regarding consolidation issues including intercompany reconciliation and eliminations.
  • Must be knowledgeable on US GAAP. Assist in keeping current with new accounting pronouncements and ensuring accounting practices are compliant with US GAAP.  In addition, assist with technical accounting matters related to complex transactions and emerging areas.
  • Assist with month-end close, including preparing and recording journal entries.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and operational excellence at strategic and tactical levels including reviewing area of responsibility for improvement opportunities to initiate projects or communicate ideas to management.
  • Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.
  • Prepare schedules for outside audit reviews.
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses as assigned. 


Requirements

 Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.


Experience

  • 3-5 years accounting and reporting experience, with a combination of public accounting and industry experience preferred.
  • Public Accounting experience a plus
  • CPA certification is preferred.


Other Skills

  • Knowledge of US GAAP
  • Experience within the energy or renewable industry preferred
  • Must be a team player that can multi-task as this role will call for both corporate accounting and SEC Reporting responsibilities.
  • Self-starter with excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Strong analytical ability and problem-solving skills that shows great attention to detail.
  • Competent computer skills to perform essential functions listed above. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
