Confluence Content Manager

GoldenWolf is seeking a Confluence Content Manager to support our client by overseeing the organization and maintenance of Confluence spaces. Responsibilities include ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and usability of content. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is required to gather content requirements, develop content strategies, and implement best practices. The role also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop data management strategies, implement data governance frameworks, and establish effective practices. Works in collaboration with our client Government Lead to assist with user management, site management, and leveraging collaborative tools, applications, and software suites to support our client’s Knowledge Management (KM) goals. 


  • Design, develop, and customize Confluence spaces, templates, and macros to meet business requirements. 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide technical expertise for Confluence-related projects. 
  • Implement and optimize Confluence workflows to streamline content creation and approval processes. 
  • Integrate Confluence with other Atlassian products, such as JIRA, for seamless project management and collaboration. 
  • Manage user access controls, permissions, and security settings within Confluence within defined policy. 
  • Perform regular maintenance activities, including upgrades, system health checks, and performance tuning. 
  • Manage and organize Confluence spaces, pages, and content to ensure consistency and accessibility. 
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather content requirements and develop content strategies aligned with business goals. 
  • Create and maintain content governance policies, standards, and guidelines for Confluence. 
  • Implement content lifecycle management processes, including archiving and deletion of outdated content. 
  • Coordinate data migrations, form, site and content creation and changes, including integration with other systems 
  • Participate in requirements gathering, technical design sessions, software development, peer reviews, unit and integration testing. 
  • Ability to troubleshoot and track end-user issues and requests. 
  • Provides information, documentation, analysis, and ad hoc support or training for client leadership and staff, enabling them to understand and take advantage of technologies that will benefit the organization. 
  • Work with IT business analysts, subject matter experts, and government stakeholders to solicit and analyze business requirements and desired results. 
  • Maintains a system status report which tracks system issues, current action items and requests for system changes in functionality. 
  • Provides responsive design solutions to help build optimal user experience. 
  • Continually improves, updates, and maintains existing spaces, page, and workflows. 
  • Collaborates and communicates effectively with team members and leadership to ensure the implementation of their ideas. 
  • Communicates continually with the senior team to understand requirements of a project and to make sure that the work done meets such requirements. 
  • Stay updated with Confluence best practices and emerging trends to recommend improvements and enhancements. 
  •  Excellent understanding of Confluence and its content management capabilities. 
  • Strong knowledge of Confluence macros, templates, and plugins/extensions.
  • Experience in developing Confluence spaces, pages, and workflows. 
  • Familiarity with Confluence permissions, user management, and security settings to ensure data integrity and access control. 
  • Experience in designing and implementing Confluence information architectures, taxonomies, and navigation structures. 
  • Familiarity with integrating Confluence with other systems, such as JIRA or third-party applications. 
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and tools. 
  • Skill in communicating ideas, concepts, methods, analyses, evaluations, and recommendations in a clear, logical, and convincing manner, either by oral or written means of communication to both technical and management groups with equal facility and clarity. 
  • Skill in both oral and written communications to manage projects, provide training and assistance, provide technical advisory services, and prepare correspondence for web applications. 
  • Knowledge of higher echelon and client standards, policies, and procedures to advise users, carry out projects and ensure compliance with IT standards. 
  • Ability to critically examine, evaluate, and problem-solve. 
  • Ability to deliver products on time, on schedule, within budget. Flexibility and ability to adapt to rapidly changing and often time-constrained environment.  
  • Experience researching and writing excellent documentation and examples for technical personnel.  
  • Ability to acquire skills/capabilities necessary to meet growing needs/demands of systems/software/hardware.
