GoldenWolf is seeking a Business Intelligence (BI) Dashboard Developer to design and develop computer system and data visualization solutions that enhance the business processes of our client. The main role of the BI developer is to develop, deploy, and maintain BI tools and interfaces. The developer will also be responsible for simplifying highly technical data and complex information into terms and visualizations that are easily understood. The BI developer will generate, organize, and maintain business interfaces; these include dashboards, data visualizations, regular and impromptu reports, and data querying tools for users to get the information they require utilizing various software solutions like Tableau, Qlik, and QlikView. 

Description/Tasks: 

  • Design, develop, conduct thorough unit testing, and proactively maintain complex dashboard reports to ensure they meet high standards of scalability, manageability, extensibility, performance, and reusability, providing valuable and sustainable solutions for data visualization and analysis. 
  • Offer comprehensive technical expertise in architecture, design, and implementation, serving as a valuable resource for guiding and advising on best practices and optimal solutions in these areas. 
  • Assess and evaluate architectural designs to determine the most effective implementation that aligns with the architect's vision and objectives, while considering factors such as scalability, performance, maintainability, and extensibility. 
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional team members to create valuable reports and dashboards that provide insights, improve/automate processes, and add value to the team. Leverage automation techniques and tools to streamline data extraction, transformation, and report generation, enhancing efficiency and reducing manual effort. 
  • Engage in iterative review cycles and collaborate closely with stakeholders to consistently deliver results that not only meet but exceed user expectations, ensuring that the developed solutions are highly effective, user-friendly, and aligned with the desired outcomes and objectives. 
  • Promote consistency and maintain high-quality standards by diligently adhering to established software coding and style guidelines, fostering a cohesive development environment that enhances collaboration, readability, maintainability, and overall code integrity. 
  • Resolve support tickets related to Tableau reports, efficiently addressing user concerns and fixing issues to ensure the smooth functioning and optimal performance of reports, contributing to the overall satisfaction of end users. 
  • Perform comprehensive exploratory data analysis to proactively track and monitor key business metrics, collaborating with stakeholders to translate functional data requirements into actionable datasets, while ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and reliability through the design and execution of reconciliation scripts. 
  • Additionally, provide expert guidance in creating and executing quality assurance (QA) test plans, ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions that exceed client expectations, drive data-driven decision-making, and contribute to the overall success of the business. 
Requirements

 

  • 5+ years of data mining, reporting, and analysis experience. 
  • 5+ years of experience of Advance SQL skill (MS SQL). 
  • Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries and stored procedures enables comprehensive data analysis and reporting. 
  • Strong core development background, proficient in designing and implementing robust solutions for data management and visualization. 
  • Expertise in developing and working with Tableau-driven dashboards, analytics, and reports using Tableau Desktop, delivering highly effective and visually appealing solutions that provide actionable insights, drive data-informed decision-making, and add value to the organization. 
  • Ability to analyze data sets and business requirements to recommend optimal Tableau data visualizations. 
  • Advanced proficiency in Tableau development, showcasing the ability to design and implement complex visualizations, interactive dashboards, and advanced analytical solutions to drive actionable insights and support data-driven decision-making. 
  • Working knowledge of Tableau dashboards specifically tailored for analyzing and visualizing health care data, with the ability to effectively present insights and trends from diverse healthcare datasets. 
  • Possess a solid working knowledge of Tableau administration and architecture, demonstrating an understanding of the key principles, components, and best practices involved in effectively managing and optimizing Tableau environments for efficient data visualization and analytics. 
  • Proficient in querying and manipulating large datasets to maximize Tableau workbook performance. 
  • Strong ability to interpret complex business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for intuitive dashboard structures. 
  • High-level competency in Excel, including macros, pivot tables, and advanced functions. 
  • Solid understanding and application of advanced calculations, statistical functions, SQL, relational databases, data modeling, and normalization. 
  • Create and manage semantic layer ETL process for efficient data extraction, transformation and loading. 
  • Strong business acumen and exceptional communication skills are crucial for collaborating with stakeholders, interpreting their needs, and creating tailored analytics and data platforms. 

Preferred Skills: 

  • Strong preference for candidates with current SQL Database and Tableau Certifications. 
  • Experience with SSRS and Crystal Reports is a plus. 
  • Minimum of 2+ years of previous experience working with IT healthcare database support, preferably within a clinical unit of a healthcare organization, and involving an integrated Electronic Medical Record (EMR) application. 
  • At least 1+ year of experience working with healthcare data. 
  • Familiarity with Qlik and/or QlikView enhances data visualization capabilities, facilitating interactive and insightful visualizations. 
  • Ensure the timely and accurate updating of the data catalog to reflect the ingestion of new data, enabling efficient data discovery and maximizing the usability of the organization's data assets. 
  • Experience in implementing security row filters ensures data privacy and compliance. 
  • Quick mapping of business processes to data models, streamlines development and ensures accurate data representation. 
  • Skill in communicating ideas, concepts, methods, analyses, evaluations, and recommendations in a clear, logical, and convincing manner, either by oral or written means of communication to both technical and management groups with equal facility and clarity. 
  • Skill in both oral and written communications to manage projects, provide training and assistance, provide technical advisory services, and prepare correspondence for web applications. 
  • Knowledge of higher echelon and DHA IT standards, policies, and procedures to advise users, carry out projects and ensure compliance with IT standards. 
  • Ability to critically examine, evaluate, and problem-solve. 
  • Ability to deliver products on time, on schedule, within budget. Flexibility and ability to adapt to rapidly changing and often time-constrained environment. 
  • Experience researching and writing excellent documentation and examples for technical personnel. 

Physical Requirements:?

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times. 
  • Must be able to work remotely and on-site as required by the position, client and/or contract requirements. 
  • May be required to travel up to 20%.
