Position Overview

• New Garden Landscaping is seeking an experienced Horticulture Sales Consultant to help clients improve and enhance their landscapes through thoughtful plant selection, landscape improvements, and ongoing horticulture services.
• This is a consultative sales role for professionals with a strong background in the green industry who understand plant material, landscape health, and horticultural best practices. The ideal candidate is comfortable evaluating landscapes, identifying improvement opportunities, and recommending solutions that create long-term landscape success.
• This position is intended for experienced green industry professionals. Professional experience in horticulture, landscaping, nursery operations, or related plant-focused roles is required.

Responsibilities

• Meet with residential and commercial clients to evaluate landscapes and discuss improvement opportunities.
• Recommend plant material, landscape enhancements, and horticultural solutions.
• Identify plant health issues, improper plant selection, and landscape deficiencies.
• Develop proposals for landscape enhancements, plant installations, and seasonal improvements.
• Promote and sell ongoing horticulture maintenance and plant care services.
• Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals.
• Prepare accurate estimates, proposals, and contracts.
• Track leads and sales activity in the company CRM.
• Respond promptly to client communications following the 5:10 rule:
  • Same-day response for messages received before 5:00 PM
  • By 10:00 AM the next business day for after-hours inquiries
• Conduct site visits and final walkthroughs to ensure project success and client satisfaction.
• Maintain a professional appearance and represent New Garden Landscaping with integrity.
• Participate in networking opportunities to build relationships and generate new business.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in the green industry (landscape services, horticulture, nursery management, landscape design, or related field).
• Strong knowledge of plant material, plant health, and landscape improvement practices.
• Ability to evaluate existing landscapes and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Highly organized with strong time management skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Valid North Carolina driver’s license.
