Position Overview:


Assist with the implementation and maintenance of the co-op’s IT systems at all locations, with an eye to maintaining stability of operations, integrity of data, and strong customer service to both internal (co-op staff) and external customers.  


Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

System Support and Maintenance (50%)

In collaboration with other members of the IT department, maintain all IT systems in working order.

Participate in “helpdesk” function for staff IT issues.

Participate in on-call schedule for troubleshooting computer and software problems.

Perform after-hours maintenance on computer systems.

Work with outside vendors and technical support, as needed.

Ensure integrity of data and availability of systems by following appropriate back-up and disaster recovery systems and procedures.

Other duties as needed or required.

System Implementation and Deployment (50%)

Set up staff workstations (desktops and laptops) with appropriate hardware or software.

Set up POS terminals (cash registers) with appropriate hardware or software.

Set up printers and other network devices with appropriate installation procedures and configuration.

Provide appropriate staff training on computers and software.

Oversee vendor work to make sure systems are implemented as planned.

Update documentation to reflect changes made during or after implementation.


Supervision Received

The IT Operations Technician reports to the IT Director and will work closely with all members of the IT team.  Training and staff development opportunities will be provided to allow the Operations Technician to develop and maintain technical skills.  





Requirements
  • Demonstrated computer-related problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with Windows and MacOS.
  • Willingness to learn new skills as needed.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects.
  • Good communication and listening skills.
  • Regular, predictable attendance.  Some after-hours work is required.
