The Landscape Maintenance Manager is a full-time role that is responsible for maintaining the landscape of all Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari property. Essential duties include mowing lawns, removing weeds, trimming shrubs, planting new greenery, and removing unwanted trees and supporting the efforts of Morning Grounds. The Landscape Maintenance Manager ensures walkways remain clear of each season’s debris throughout the entire year. This position will also be responsible for the leadership and management of all seasonal landscape team members.
- Ensure all Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari property achieve quality and appearance standards
- Ensure the highest safety standards are followed in the Park Services departments
- Manage all activities involving landscape maintenance services, including the coordination of all materials, people, and equipment required to produce a quality job
- Maintain equipment for the Parks Services department, including mowers, power washers, loaders, tractors, etc.
- Inspect properties daily to prioritize activities
- Work closely with the Director of Park Services with recruiting, training, scheduling, performance management, daily tasks, company policies, discipline, and operational duties
- Assist in preparing annual operating budget for Landscape Maintenance and operate within budget parameter
- Work with outside vendors regarding lawn care, and products as assigned by Director of Park Services
- Perform hands-on grounds-keeping work such as mowing, tree limb removal, pest control, fertilizing and assist with snow removal
- Report to work as scheduled, including holidays, weekends, evenings, and overtime
- Cross-train and assist Morning Grounds operations as needed
- Cross-train and assist operational departments such as Attractions, as needed
- Learn new tasks and skills at the park and by attending company-sponsored training off-site
- Perform daily housekeeping tasks to keep your workplace clean, organized, maintained, and safe
- Be available to work unscheduled hours to respond to unplanned and/or emergency work
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; associate degree in related field preferred
- Minimum 3 years of landscaping experience
- 1-2 years of management experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new software programs
- Ability to use all landscape equipment including bobcat, forklift, and articulating loader
- Knowledge of plant material, diseases and insects, chemical spray, and irrigation
- Ability to properly use a respirator and pass a full-face respirator fit test, if needed
- Ability to wear PPE
- Dependable attendance record
- Valid driver’s license
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in the English language
- Ability to work cross functionally with all levels of employees and management
- Acceptable pre-employment drug screen and background check
