Description

Job Summary:

The Beertender is primarily responsible for providing friendly, knowledgeable, and responsive service to guests at the bar at Ketch Grill & Taps at Portside Pier. This position will be responsible for describing, selling, and pouring brews and serving as an “expert” on Ketch Brewing, the Portside Pier property, and our products.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve beverages consistently adhering to all recipe standards.
  • Protects establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies.
  • Anticipate guests’ needs and exceed guest service expectations.
  • Be knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the menu, with the ability to answer questions and make suggestions.
  • Take orders, serve bar patrons, and process payment.
  • Keep designated service stations clean and organized.
  • Restock and replenish bar inventory.
  • Ensure guests are enjoying their experience and take action to correct any problems.
  • Concludes the guest experience by acknowledging choice of establishment and inviting patrons to return.
  • Complete assigned sidework at the beginning, during, and at end of shift.

Requirements

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Must be of legal age to pour and serve alcohol.
  • Minimum 1 year restaurant experience.
  • Friendly, energetic, detail-oriented team player who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment! 
  • A desire to help where needed and work as part of a team.
  • Ability to work positively and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to monitor the entire bar area and service wells.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Exhibit a professional appearance and mannerisms.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, reach, bend, stoop, and wipe for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to carry trays and supplies (up to 50 lbs.).
  • Food Handler Certification.
  • Responsible Alcohol Service Certification.
