American Energy Storage Innovations, Inc. has a full-time opening for a Documentation & Training Manager in Hudson, Massachusetts. 


Job Summary:

The Documentation and Training Manager is responsible for developing the content for user documentation & training material, overseeing the Technical Writing staff, and maintaining training & documentation timelines. This individual facilitates ongoing updates to content used to prepare user documentation & training materials to be used internally and customer facing. 

This individual is responsible for identifying and continually driving enhancements to documentation & training material based on product and programs, in alignment with evolving company priorities and strategy


Responsibilities:

  • Create the scripts and training material documentation for demos, videos, and engaging presentations for distribution internally and to customers.
  • Collaborate with the a Service Engineering teams to create and update content for training that aligns with product manuals, and customer needs.
  • Manage, facilitate, and evaluate documentation standards for technical content.
  • Lead and coordinate the updating of all training materials including user manuals, procedures, eLearning, PowerPoints, and similar.
  • Work with leadership and subject matter experts to assess training gaps and needs to build training programs to ensure maximum training results.
  • Manage project activities efficiently and effectively, consistent with approved work scopes, schedules and budgets.
  • Collaborate interdepartmentally to ensure timely product releases.
  • Stay up-to-date on current trends in user & training documentation, design, and methodology.
  • Analyzes and update existing and potential content to best meet with needs of the appropriate teams while maintaining continuity of style of content.
  • Ensure documentation integrity and consistency of documentation practice.
  • Adhere to federal and state regulations.
  • Adhere to all company policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as requested, directed, or assigned. 
  • Predictable and reliable attendance.

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technical writing or communications, marketing engineering or other related technical field.
  • Masters’ degree preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years related professional work in a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience with ongoing curriculum development.
  • Ability to learn and explain practical engineering and programming concepts and procedures
  • Highly motivated individual with the ability to effectively prioritize and handle multiple tasks and work under aggressive time constraints.
  • Detail orientated with a strong understanding of process and procedural documentation, content reuse, and continuous documentation delivery.
  • Excellent oral, written, analytic, and organizational skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS).
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Publisher, Access, and PowerPoint), Adobe Technical Suite (FrameMaker and Acrobat), Adobe Creative Suite, or equivalent.
  • MadCap Software experience preferred.
  • Ability for domestic and international travel, up to 25%.

  • Works in temperature-controlled office environment, with occasional work in outdoor weather conditions, and in industrial/lab environments.
  • Prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Video conference calls / meetings with domestic and international employees, vendors, and manufacturing partners during as well as outside of normal business hours.  
  • Ability to adjust focus, especially due to concentration on a computer screen. 
  • May be required to travel to and navigate a variety of domestic and international sites to perform assignments
  • The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations
