The School 

New Canaan Country School, a Pre-K through Grade 9 co-ed, independent day school, currently serves 555 students from diverse backgrounds living in 21 different surrounding towns/cities in Connecticut and New York. Our Location 

Located on an 85-acre campus, NCCS is a suburban school close to many transportation options. The campus sits an hour south of New Haven and 45 minutes north of New York City by car or commuter train.


We are seeking enthusiastic and qualified applicants to join our Extended Day & Rental teams within our Plus Program. The ideal applicant is someone who enjoys working with children, in grades PreK-9. Applicants should excel in supervision and reliability. The core schedule is Wednesday, 11:30am-5:30PM with opportunities to cover rentals in the evenings and on weekends throughout the remainder of the week. This position is paid based on experience and qualifications. 


Responsibilities

  • Provide care and supervision for students in grades PreK-9 in afterschool programming
  • Ensure student safety by complying with all school policies and procedures
  • Attend scheduled staff meetings and complete required in-house trainings
  • Develop and oversee activities that are developmentally and seasonally appropriate and that align with the School's mission and culture; these may include but are not limited to arts and crafts, cooking, board games, outside play and cooperative games
  • NCCS Staff member on campus during rentals- available to uphold facility rules, answer questions, and troubleshoot issues
Requirements
  • Experience with being responsible for the supervision of children
  • Ability to connect with students at the preschool/elementary/middle school age level (3-15 years old)
  • Possess or acquire First Aid and CPR certificate (training available through school)
