Iowa City Hospice is seeking a Full Time On Call Hospice Nurse to be a part of our interdisciplinary team.

We provide all our nurses with IPhones, IPads, and company cars plus on-going learning opportunities to be a successful Hospice Nurses. To meet our vision of being the recognized experts in end of life care, each new nurse can expect a thorough orientation, followed by a preceptor and by the third year of employment become accredited as a Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse (CHPN).
Iowa City Hospice Nurses have a passionate understanding for the hospice philosophy. They combine their acute/crisis symptom management education with interpersonal communication skills to provide care for patients and families in physical and emotional crisis situations, after hours.
Iowa City Hospice encourages care takers and patients to contact our nurse with any perceived emergent need or change in condition regardless of the time of day so that they feel well taken care during their Hospice experience. Our On-call Nurse position is a critical component to the delivery of that patient care. This position is responsible for exceptional service and compassionate administration of all nursing care to patients and care takers after hours.
Our Hospice Nurses:
This position requires a valid Iowa Nursing License and flexible scheduling availability to meet patient needs during evening and weekend hours. All nurses must have a valid Iowa driver's license and be eligible to a drive company car after hours, within the seven county service territory.
