Position Overview: Our Transition Support Specialty Consultants shall provide support for transitioning veterans and their immediate family members as a specialty consultation to eligible participants seeking to speak with an individual possessing the knowledge, training, tools, and resources to assist the participant as they transition to the new life stage of leaving the military. Consultants provide personalized support to service members in the process of transitioning to civilian life. Consultants help transitioning service members identify goals, navigate benefits and resources like VA assistance, and prepare for civilian career and education opportunities.

Position Responsibilities:

• Transition Support Specialty Consultants may be assigned to one or more specialty consultation programs based on their experience, expertise, education, and background.
• Provide psychoeducational, virtual support, and specialty consultation services to eligible participants seeking to speak with an individual possessing the experience, knowledge, training, tools, and resources to assist the participant.
• Navigate resources, resolve concerns, and assess challenges
• Document cases according to program guidelines.
• Document cases into the case management system.
• Perform follow-up calls and reporting as necessary.
• Monitor research, referrals, and additional materials sent to users/customers.
• Maintain internal and contractual training requirements.
• May perform other duties and special projects based on business needs.

Position Requirements:

• A Master’s degree from an accredited graduate program in a mental health-related field such as social work, psychology, marriage/family therapy, or counseling.
• At least four years of appropriate experience that demonstrates that the applicant has
• acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences.
  • Or have a bachelor’s degree and be enrolled in a Master’s degree from an accredited graduate program in a mental health-related field such as social work, psychology, marriage/family therapy, or counseling. At least one year of experience under supervision that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences.

Additionally, all specialty consultants shall:

• Possess strong customer service skills, knowledge of call center operations, and knowledge and understanding of military life.
• Meet the background investigation requirements listed in this posting.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

• Fluency in Spanish
• Veteran/military retiree, wounded warrior, and/or military spouse experience. 
• Experience working with and/or for military communities.
