Description

The primary responsibility of the Senior Electrical Engineers is to provide project leadership and oversight from concept to completion.

  • Manage several projects simultaneously; perform engineering tasks and provide guidance to project teams; ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and of a high technical quality; generate creative solutions; translate concepts and information into images; use feedback to modify and apply design principals and demonstrate a high level of attention to detail.
  • Participate in the production and/or review of construction documents, including but not limited to drawings, submittals, reports, and proposals to ensure accuracy and conformance with design; maintain high quality and uniform standards.
  • Coordinate and assist with field measurements, data collection, field reports, field observation and/or site inspections.
  • Attend design coordination meeting with team members and client representatives.
  • Support and maintain client relationships.
  • Participate in peer reviews to ensure quality and mitigate risk.
  • Prepare monthly percent completes, projections, and pre-bills for invoicing. 
  • Assist in training, mentoring, and developing team members by providing guidance and technical expertise.
  • Partner with Marketing & Business Development in responding to RFQ’s including interviews, resumes, and presentations.
Requirements

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with a minimum of fifteen years relevant experience, preferably in a consulting engineering firm.  Master's degree a plus.  Must have thorough knowledge of power, lighting, data, security, and fire alarm distribution systems. Previous experience working on buildings and/or industrial/manufacturing facilities required.


Certifications, Licenses, Registrations 

Professional Engineer (P.E.) with the capability of licensure in the states of North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia; must have a valid driver's license with the ability to complete required OSHA training.  


Computer and Software Skills 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Internet. Must be knowledgeable of electrical programs, such as Visual, and SKM along with construction document delivery software, such as AutoCAD and/or Revit.  Familiarity with Bluebeam or other PDF software a plus.
