 Self-Direction Payroll Specialist

Purpose:

To assist the Self Direction and Payroll Departments in effectively, efficiently and confidentially processing payroll and all payroll accounting tasks. To ensure compliance with laws, policies and procedures as they relate to payroll.

Status: Non-Exempt

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED required, Associate Degree preferred.
  • 1 year of payroll experience preferred.
  •   Effective organizational, time management and math skills.
  •   Strong organization skills with a keen ability to prioritize and multi-task; Detail oriented.
  •   Edits work for spelling and grammar, presents numerical data effectively and is able to read and interpret written information.
  •   Demonstrates accuracy, thoroughness, and monitors own work to ensure quality.
  •   Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Adherence to Agency policies including Attendance Policy.
  •   Valid NYS Drivers’ License, acceptable to Agency insurance standards preferred. Maintain valid insurance and provide insurance card if you use your own vehicle.

Physical/Cognitive Requirements:

  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Use of computer, and/or writing for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to remain calm in stressful or demanding situations.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks.

Responsible To: Director of Independent Supports and Services, Lead Self-Direction Coordinators/Designee

Essential Functions:

  • Assist in processing all self-direction payroll accurately and timely in the Agency Payroll system.
  • Assist self-direction employees of AIM Services with payroll, the time and attendance system, as well as assuring all proper, billable documentation is recorded prior to payment.
  • Assist with monitoring and following up on concerns with employees who are not properly following the overtime and status policy and procedures 
  • Perform customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
  • Ensure the accuracy of all information input into the payroll system including, but not limited to, pay rates, dates, etc.
  • Distribute payroll, addressing questions, concerns and taking appropriate corrective actions.
  • Any and all other related duties as assigned/requested by supervisor.

Salary Description
$20- 25.50 / Hour
