Description

 

  • Manage a caseload of students and provide parent coaching therapy sessions or center-based programming in accordance with a child’s Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP)
  • Facilitate parent and child interactions with a curriculum that is child-centered following basic principles of child development
  • Coach and guide parents in a way that makes them feel comfortable, respected, and supported to learn listening and spoken language strategies
  • Support parents and families in the use and understanding of their child’s assistive listening devices and provide basic troubleshooting when necessary
  • Observe, record, and report child and family progress through qualitative and quantitative measures
  • Create and implement age-appropriate auditory, speech, and language goals
  • Complete and participate in quarterly and annual report meetings, IFSP meetings, and to aid in the transition process through the creation of an initial Individualized Education Plan (IEP)
  • Collaborate with service providers both inside and outside of the Clarke Community to ensure that families are provided with a valued team approach to Early Intervention services
  • Create a learning environment that fosters independence, confidence, respect for people and materials and is conducive to enjoyment in learning
  • Complete intakes for incoming families

Other Duties:

  • Active participation in Early Intervention Team Meetings
  • Attend all Clarke Boston team meetings and EI focus group meetings
  • Attend professional development meetings as scheduled by the Clarke Boston Administrative staff
Requirements
  • Master’s degree in Speech Pathology or Teacher of the Deaf
  • ASHA CCC-Speech Language Pathology or CFY; MA State License eligibility OR
  • Teacher of the Deaf (oral-aural) MA license or eligibility
  • Knowledge of Early Intervention and instructional techniques
  • Knowledge of typical child development
  • Effective planning, organizational skills, oral and written communication, flexibility and the ability to be a collaborative team member
