Requirements

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

  • Develop and execute Swim Team Events (Parent meetings, Otter Field Day, pre-Championship Swim Team potlucks, and end of season banquet)
  • Hire, supervise, and professionally develop the Swim Team coaching staff.
  • Direct Swim Team practice for the coaching season.
  • Write team workouts for unique age groups focused on technique, endurance, and speed improvements.
  • Oversee and execute home and away swim meets.
  • Head up participant meet entry and result distribution through the Swimmingly app.
  • Coordinate with coaching staff to manage the parent volunteer program.
  • Participate in swim instructor in-service trainings.
  • Lead the development of the Junior Coaching Program.
  • Serve as a representative of Overlake Golf & Country Club to Midlakes Swim League.
  • Assist in expanding the swim program.
  • Assist in development of the OGCC brand within the swim programs.
  • Attend assigned events as an OGCC Swim team representative.
  • Must be able to work with children and adults of all ages and abilities.
  • Must be available for weekends and / or evening work.  
  • Report any incidents immediately to supervisor and complete all appropriate paperwork.
  • Other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATION AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in kinesiology, sports medicine, or another relevant field or equivalent experience is preferred. 
  • Lifeguard certification or willingness to acquire upon hiring.
  • Strong leadership experience and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Minimum one year of swim coaching experience, head coach experience preferred.
  • Experience with Midlakes Swim League or similar summer swim leagues.
  • Ability to teach proper competitive swimming techniques.
