Job Title: Production Planner/Scheduler Shop Floor Control

Reports to: Chief of Operations

Location: San Marcos, Texas

About this role

Plans, schedules, coordinates and/or monitors the flow of products through the complete production cycle. Provides timely planning and scheduling of manufacturing work orders to the manufacturing floor in order to achieve both internal Production goals and Customer delivery dates. Responsible for opening and closing work orders.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Reviewing open sales orders to determine customer requirements.
  • Coordinating delivery of parts to expedite flow of material to meet production schedule.
  • Supporting purchasing.
  • Utilizing the ERP system to auto-generate manufacturing work orders.
  • Releasing manufacturing work orders to the warehouse for kit picking. 
  • Coordinating between warehouse and purchasing on material shortages.
  • Notifying Sales of any schedule impacts to customers.
  • Coordinating/expediting manufacturing builds to ensure schedules are achieved.
  • Completing status reports, such as production progress, customer information and materials inventory.
  • Exercising judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
  • WIP Control.
  • Generating Work Order and follow through until completion. Scheduling and Shop Floor Control.
  • Performing other duties as required.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Production and Processing – Has a knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and shipping of goods.
  • Can interact well with internal and external customers.
  • Possesses excellent communication skills.
  • Is able to read write and communicate effectively in English.
  • Can display proficiency in the use of computer systems and software applications. Excel, MES, Router Diagram
  • Has an in-depth knowledge of ERP software preferred.
  • Has a high school diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to move up to 50lbs.
  • Possesses manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately.
  • Can wear PPE.
  • Comfortable standing for long periods of time, up to and exceeding 60 minutes.
  • Is capable of making repetitive movements including, but not limited to, sitting, squatting and walking up and down stairs.
