Operations Host
Description

The Park Operations Host is responsible for providing exceptional upkeep of all park attractions, guest service, event execution, and regulation of parking flow. Individuals in this role must adhere to the company’s standards and procedures to deliver a consistent guest experience. Park Operations Host are highly motivated individuals that utilize their attention to detail to elevate park experiences. They are actively engaged with park guests, team members, and the park as a whole.  

      

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conducts all activities in alignment with principles and integrity of GGP Parks. 
  • Communicate professionally and effectively with team members and guests.
  • Provide a unique and top-tier level of guest satisfaction by embracing the park’s culture as directed.
  • Loading and unloading equipment and setting up venues for events to include flags, furniture, props, signage, tents, water weights and other items associated with the event. 
  • Tear down and cleanup of events after completion; accounts for equipment and supplies and ensures its return to storage, including tables, chairs, etc.
  • Actively take part in physical activity including climbing park elements, as well as operating, loading, unloading, and dispatching small boats.
  • Provide crowd control during park events or emergency situations. 
  • Assist with parking lot traffic flow, to include placing or removing cones and signage, directing guests to available parking spaces, and monitoring lot for changes in flow.
  • Provide support for park opening and closing duties, including conducting thorough inspections and following park sweep procedures. 
  • Uphold and operate within policies and procedures on a continuous basis to ensure safety, efficiency and guest satisfaction.
  • Be courteous and initiate positive interactions with park guests.
  • Answer guest questions and provide clear directions to park elements.
  • Will be cross-trained to assist other teams within the park.
  • Inform guests of park safety rules through appropriate communication and guidance.
  • Complete inspections on park elements and operational areas during opening procedures and throughout the day.
  • Responsible for keeping park attractions and play elements clean. 
  • Cleaning duties include but are not limited to, sweeping, hosing down or using blowers, raking sand, and organizing storage areas.
  • Follow established protocols to assist guests with a variety of scenarios such as reuniting lost children.
  • Consistently practice safe habits including use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), safe lifting techniques, and reporting safety concerns.
  • Maintain a professional appearance that meets Gathering Place grooming standards.
  • Perform additional duties as needed. 
Requirements

  

Strengths and Abilities:

  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Ability to provide world class service to peers, leadership and guests.
  • Ability to prioritize daily tasks.
  • Ability to follow department and company policies, procedures and safety guidelines.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must have the ability to stand for extended periods of time; exhibit manual dexterity to use equipment; see and read printed material, physical agility to lift and carry up to 50 pounds individually, and 100 pouds with assistance, to bend, to stoop, to walk and to reach overhead. Must be able to carry, place and climb ladders of varying heights. 
  • Perform the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bend floor-to-waist/waist-to-overhead, reach overhead, stand, sit, lift and walk indoors and outdoors for extended periods of time, simple grasp and fine hand manipulations tasks. 
  • Must have the ability to climb ladders and work around heights and maneuver through tight spaces associated with playground  elements.
  • May shovel and remove snow and ice from designated areas such as sidewalks, parking lots, entryways as required.
  • Must be proficient in swimming and operating kayaks, and paddleboats.
  • Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to weather conditions varied from very hot to very cold based on season.  The noise level greatly varies based on attendance, programming, and location in park.

Basic Qualifications:

  • The ability to communicate verbally with large groups. 
  • The ability to work and interact positively with children and families.
  • The ability to successfully complete CPR training.
  • Ability to regularly work weekends, holidays, and non-traditional hours as dictated by the needs of the park.
  • Ability to perform all cleaning duties, including use of cleaning chemicals.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a customer service setting.
  • Completion of High School Diploma or GED. 
  • Experience operating small, recreational watercraft.
  • Experience working in athletics, or outside activities.
  • 1 to 2 years of working with children and families in a setting where providing guided instruction was key.
