OpenLoop is currently seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our team at our HQ in Des Moines, IA. This role will be an integral part of the Accounting Team, working closely with the Assistant Controller.

About the Role

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Processing and managing bi-weekly or monthly payroll cycles for employees.
• Verifying timekeeping records and ensuring accuracy of hours worked.
• Calculating and processing deductions, bonuses, and commissions.
• Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
• Collaborating with HR to ensure accurate employee data and resolving any discrepancies.
• Preparing and submitting payroll reports to management as needed.
• Responding to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters.
• Reconciling payroll transactions and resolving any discrepancies.
• Assisting in the implementation and maintenance of payroll systems.
• Staying informed about changes in payroll regulations and best practices.
• Assist with special accounting projects as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related field required.
• Understanding of payroll regulations and compliance preferred.
• Proficient in using payroll software and MS Office, especially Excel required.
• Self-starting individual.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills required.
