JOB SUMMARY 

The Superintendent is responsible for managing onsite installations of natural stone, quartz, solid surface, and any other scopes under contract. Managing installations requires a combination of organization, paperwork, and communication with customer Superintendents, Atlanta West Project Managers, and installation subcontractors. The Atlanta West Superintendent is required to pre-walk jobsites to ensure conditions are ready for installation and know how to react when conditions are not. The Superintendent will also continuously oversee installation methods to ensure quality and that proper installation methods are being followed. This requires a working knowledge of installations methods as defined by industry standards. The Superintendent will serve as the direct onsite liaison as a representative of Atlanta West and is required to clearly communicate to both the customer and the installers on behalf of Atlanta West.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Review and understand all installation requirements with Atlanta West Project Manager as it relates to product, scope, and install method
  • Ability to read and understand work orders, blueprints, specifications. All work instructions are to be verified to match provided diagrams, and any discrepancies are to be resolved before work begins
  • Prepare notes regarding job progress and be prepared to discuss the state of each project during regularly weekly of bi-weekly departmental meetings.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with customer and other subcontractors
  • Pre-walk areas to receive countertops, wall cladding, etc and any other scopes under contract to ensure readiness.  
  • Oversee installations to ensure all products within our scope including proper finish material, correct adhesives, installation methods and protection are being installed properly and are 100% complete
  • Oversee installations to ensure compliance with industry installation methods and highest levels of quality 
  • Post-walk areas that have been installed to ensure areas are complete and that quality is in compliance with Atlanta West standards
  • Maintain awareness of all job schedules and coordinate efforts with Atlanta West Project Manager effectively
  • Maintain customer installation schedule
  • Schedule deliveries with customer, and coordinate with Atlanta West personnel, and subcontractor
  • Onsite material management (High Priority)
  • Paperwork or electronic reporting responsibilities
  • Attend all onsite meetings
  • With the use of spread sheets, continuously monitor work progress
  • Manage subcontractors
  • Problem solving
  • Responsible for timely completion of punch lists
  • As a liaison of Atlanta West, the Superintendent is required to be on site when Atlanta West subcontractors are present.
  • Ongoing industry training required and will be made available


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company guidelines, policies and procedures, and applicable laws. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Experience templating, installing, drawing in CAD strongly recommended
  • Ability to complete punch work, template, assist with installation, as needed
  • Ability to work professionally and independently providing leadership and a demonstrated capability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to do mathematical calculations to estimate quantities, provide field measurements when needed, and the ability to determine time, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity to a timely completion
  • Ability to communicate effectively and in an appropriate manner in writing and verbally. 
  • Ability to work with customer representatives, installers, and other trades in a professional manner
  • Must have a valid driver license and insurance that meets the company’s requirements at all times

  • OSHA 10 required
  • OSHA 30 is required for some projects, and if needed, the training will be provided
  • Forklift license required
  • Medical First Aid training is required
  • The use of an IPAD is required
  • A working knowledge of Microsoft Office is preferred.
