JOB SUMMARY

The Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner (PA/NP) functions as a Sub-Investigator in support of the Division of Site Services in the provision of medical care and research assistance under the direction and supervision of the Clinical Research Unit Management. The PA/NP is responsible for providing clinical evaluation of potential research subjects and providing continuous monitoring throughout clinical subject participation in trials under the guidance of the Principal Investigator.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serves as a Sub-Investigator on Clinical Trials as allowed by the sponsor and protocol.
  • Obtains complete history of patients and research subjects, recording elements of past health history, family history, review of health habits, environmental and occupational data
  • Conducts physical examination to provide information for use in diagnostic study and treatment of patients and research subjects; obtains and ships biological samples
  • Records study information in the source documents and detailing all changes
  • Maintains the accuracy and completeness of all patient records
  • Oversees research assistants on the clinical unit and guides as needed
  • Review daily phone screens & pre-screening documentation
  • Assists in training of research assistants on performing clinical procedures
  • Phase one study oversight includes study set-up, dosing, QC’ing charts, and data, and overseeing and assisting RAs/techs with study assessments.
  • Review all protocols and other study-related materials and ensure compliance
  • Assist research staff as needed, as well as other clinicians
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. For NYC, the salary range is up to $65/hr.

Requirements
  • The position requires at least graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner program with registration
  • Licensure in NY State and/or NJ State
  • Must have interpersonal skills sufficient to effectively interact with patients and Clinilabs staff in fulfilling the duties and responsibilities of the position
  • Preferred experience performing clinical procedures such as venipuncture, IV catheter insertion, etc.
  • The PA/NP must have analytical abilities sufficient to interpret patient examination results and possess national certification as a Physician Assistant/ Nurse Practitioner as applicable.
