Gilbert Christian Schools is searching for an exceptional full-time Social Studies Teacher for the 2024-25 school year. The high school social studies teacher works with students in grades 9-12, instructing them on social studies concepts and skills with an emphasis on critical thinking and analysis, all through and toward a biblical worldview. The position involves developing lesson plans and assessments, planning engagement activities, grading assessments, developing assignments, providing help outside of class, and working with colleagues and parents as necessary to foster student success. The GCS social studies teacher puts a priority on students engaging with the concepts of social studies to better understand God and the created world.

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in English or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
• 3 years or more of teaching experience at the high school level preferred
• Candidates with an advanced degree or graduate-level coursework in a science field who can be approved to teach college-level dual enrollment courses are highly desired
• Knowledge of effective teaching methodologies, instructional technology, assessment methods, classroom management rapport building, and mentoring
