Security Information Systems Specialist

U.S. Citizenship Required. Ability to qualify for a TOP SECRET US Department of Defense security clearance required.

Candidate must ultimately be SAP and SCI program eligible.


This position is in-person.


Toyon is seeking a Security Information Systems Specialist with 5+ years of experience for our fast-paced Department of Defense environment. The ideal applicant would have experience working on classified computing systems under the Joint Special Access Program Implementation Guide (JSIG), DoD Directive 5205.07 Manuals (Volumes 1-4), NIST SP 800-171, the NISPOM Rule 32 CFR Part 117, and ICD Standards.

Functions include:

  • Technical support of classified system hardware and software
  • Apply diagnostic techniques to identify problems, investigate causes, and recommend solutions
  • Harden and perform certifications on new classified systems
  • Provide Security configuration advice to various Program Managers
  • Interpretation of Government Regulations relating to IA management of computer networks and standalone information systems
  • All aspects of audits, ensuring systems are being operated securely and computer security policies and procedures are implemented
  • Performing self-inspections and verifying procedures
  • Contributing to and updating Risk Managed Framework (RMF) materials
  • Assist with Special Access Program Inspections as needed
  • Obtain and maintain Authorizations to Operate (ATOs) Controls
  • Contribute to Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) gap analysis and monitoring, document creation, and staff training
  • Coordination of new computer systems, acting as a liaison between Security and IT
  • Contribute Information Assurance security expertise and budgeting support for new business proposals
  • Day to day Information Assurance operations and Security Team operational support
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years Security and/or Information Technology experience
  • Experience with administering enterprise class computing, networking, and storage hardware
  • Experience with DoD security practices
  • Security+ is preferred

The annual pay range for the Security Information Systems Specialist position is $95,000 to $145,000.


The posted pay range values provide the candidate with guidance on annual base compensation for the position, at a full time level of effort, exclusive of overtime, bonus, and benefits-related compensation, over a range of qualifications that may fit hiring objectives. Toyon Research Corporation will consider the individual candidate’s education, work experience, applicable knowledge, skills and training, among other factors, when preparing an offer of employment.
