Description

Position Purpose


To utilize advanced analytical techniques and market knowledge to provide sales with strategic insights, drive revenue growth and enhance business performance.  Position will leverage data analysis and market insights to drive strategic decisions, optimize sales performance and maximize profitability within a dynamic retail environment in the fresh berry category for a leading world provider of Fresh Berries. Responsible for creating and preparing reports/recommendations to better assist sales in the areas of consumer insights, competitive insights, promotional efficiency, and effectiveness through the use of IRI/Circana database, 84.51°and Illuminate data platforms. Focus on identifying trends and developments to better assist sales in recognizing opportunities and sales strategies.

• Primary Supervisor: President of Sales

• Dotted-Line Supervisor:   VP of Sales, VP of Marketing


Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Development of strategic Category Management/Category analysis presentations that drive sales and share of Naturipe products.

o Presentations must have a persuasive story line.

o High quality graphical look. 

• Streamline and automate reporting to increase efficiency and improve usability of sales data information.

• Provide consultation to Kroger’s Sales team on analysis and special projects.

• Proactively uncover opportunities and issues at Kroger using 84.51° Shop data, syndicated and shipment data, working with the Sales & Marketing Management team and Kroger Account manager as well as other team members to resolve.  

• Serve as the team’s Consumer Insights expert & play lead role during Kroger’s 84.51°/Shelf Review and Walmart’s Illuminate Shelf Review process and analytics.

• Integrate IRI data into sales recommendation.

• Analyze new items and post-promotional sales as needed.

• Meet all presentation deadlines.

• Execute special projects as directed. 


Quantitative Data/Job Dimensions

• Weekly report creation and analysis of approximately 15+ reports

o Data Sources are IRI, Kroger’s 84.51°and Walmart’s Illuminate.

• Monthly and Quarterly report creation and analysis of additional 15+ reports

• Ad hoc reporting as needed on demand.


Requirements

• BA/BS in Business Management, Marketing, Finance or equivalent.  

• Minimum of 5+ years as a Category Manager/Sales Analyst role within CPG industry or retail company. 

• Experience working with Kroger analytics (Sales Consumption data & 84.51°data) is a plus but full training is available through the Kroger 84.51°team.

• Experience and proficiency working with syndicated market data; Nielsen or IRI required.  Experience with Market6 a plus.

• 84.51° data insights and analysis knowledge a plus.

• Advanced computer knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook) required. SAP knowledge a plus.

• Strong proficiency with Excel (pivot tables, formulation, graphing/charting, linking) required.

• Must enjoy analytics and possess an aptitude for investigating and problem solving with little direction.

• Ability to create selling story using data information given sales objectives.

• Effective communication skills both verbal and written.  

• Effectively communicate complex or detailed information to multiple individuals at customer and business units who have various knowledge levels.

• Ability to summarize and develop solutions concisely.

• Comfortable working in a fast paced, cross functional team environment, where quick change in priorities could be the norm, depending on the season.

• Creative problem-solving skills. 

• Ability to access and effectively interact with senior leadership at the customer and marketing business units internally.  

• Strong teamwork skills mandatory.

• Skilled at transforming data into information.

• Must be detail-oriented for accurate reporting.

• Willing to work after hours if needed.

• Sound prioritization and time management skills.

• Must be able to work in a professional, confident manner.

• Travel required (up to 5% of the time)
