COMPENSATION: $20 Per Hour
HIRING TIMELINE: Applications to be accepted until filled with a priority application deadline of 3/18/2024. Application review and interviews to be conducted starting 4/22/2024 with an anticipated start date of 07/8/24 and end date of 8/12/24.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Williamstown Theatre Festival is seeking a motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Production Assistant for the 2024 Season. Working closely with the Production Stage Manager, the Production Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the rehearsal and performance process for the assigned production. This position requires an attention to detail and a proactive approach to management.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Stage Management Execution:
- Assist the Stage Manager in the coordination and execution of daily rehearsal needs.
- Set up and maintain rehearsal spaces, ensuring they are equipped with necessary materials and resources.
- Provide on-site support during performances, assisting with backstage operations and quick changes.
- Create and distribute production-related documents and information to the cast and crew. Take notes during rehearsals and performances as directed.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of production-related documentation.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure working environment for yourself and the entire production team.
Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with the guest director and stage manager to ensure a smooth flow and management of cast, crew, and physical production elements on stage.
- Contribute to creative problem-solving and troubleshooting during the production process, addressing challenges related to performance of the production.
- Work closely with production departments to ensure a seamless and integrated production process.
- Partake in production debrief meetings and create documentation of notes that will better serve the position and stage management department next summer.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- The Williamstown Theatre Festival does not require a specific number of years of experience or have a minimum for educational credentials.
- Previous professional experience or relevant internships in theatrical stage management is preferred.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic production environment.
- Eagerness to learn and a proactive approach to tasks.
- An essential function of this job is in-person work in Williamstown, MA.
