POSITION:   Festival Operations Staff 

CLASSIFICATION:  Seasonal - Full Time

STATUS:   Non-Exempt

REPORTS TO:   Operations Manager  

LOCATION:   Williamstown, MA

COMPENSATION: $22 Per Hour  

HIRING TIMELINE: Applications to be accepted until filled with a priority application deadline of 3/18/2024. Application review and interviews to be conducted starting 3/18/2024 with an anticipated start date of 06/3/24 and end date of 8/17/24.

JOB SUMMARY: 

The Williamstown Theatre Festival is on the lookout for a dynamic and enthusiastic team player to join our team in the role of Festival Operations Staff for the 2024 Season. As a vital part of the action, our Festival Operations Staff will be the driving force behind making sure various logistical and administrative duties happen seamlessly throughout the summer. This position is great for those with an attention to detail and a proactive approach. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Daily Operations and Execution:

  • Work with the Operations Manager to execute logistical aspects of festival operations, including transportation, mail, accommodations, IT, first aid, and facilities management.
  • Facilitate the load in and strike of seasonal offices on the Williams College campus
  • Responsible for the setup and preparation of accommodations for artists, ensuring that their living spaces are fully equipped per union rules. This is inclusive of any cleanings, linen collection, or turnover tasks. 
  • Coordinate the use of festival vehicles including maintenance, arranging any rental vehicles, staff reservations, operating vehicles, and tracking expenses of the fleet. 
  • Receive all deliveries and deliver or notify the appropriate departments. Work in conjunction with the Business Office to retrieve mail from the Festival’s PO box. 
  • Assist with the load-in and load-out of campus spaces including offices and workspaces, counting of equipment, and storage of items for off-season. 
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure working environment for yourself and the entire operations team.

Team Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager to ensure a smooth management of operational needs of the festival throughout the summer.  
  • Contribute to creative problem-solving and troubleshooting during the summer, addressing challenges related to operational needs of each department. 
  • Work closely with production departments supervisors and various staff to ensure a seamless and integrated planning of operations. 
  • Partake in season debrief meetings and create documentation of notes that will better serve the position and operations management department next summer.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The Williamstown Theatre Festival does not require a specific number of years of experience or have a minimum for educational credentials.
  • Previous professional experience or relevant internships in theatrical operations management is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and a proactive approach to tasks.
  • An essential function of this job is in-person work in Williamstown, MA.
Salary Description
$22/hour
