Primary purpose: Provide project management for a major, complex Health IT technical contract working with government stakeholders. Work with Task Leads to plan and manage work across the project. Drive scope, team, schedule, budget, and quality aspects to achieve project objectives and deliverables under Lantana’s high performance standards. 


A successful candidate will: 

  • Apply industry best practices for managing projects, including objectives, schedule, budget, quality, resources, communication, and risks. 
  • Be a trusted advisor to the client. 
  • Be a task-management and tracking expert.  
  • Communicate effectively about the project with clients, management, and staff on topics such as project status, concerns, and changes. 
  • Work closely with project team and client to identify risks and develop mitigation strategies. 
  • Juggle competing demands and prioritize work effectively.  
  • Organize, direct, and coordinate the planning and production of contract delivery with assistance from Task Leads.  
  • Comply with and meet expectations of the Lantana project-management standards. 
  • Innovate to improve quality and increase value on the project. 
  • Develop and adhere to complex timelines. 
  • Work with Task Leads to ensure subcontractor performance meets Lantana’s quality standards.  
  • Transcribe, organize, and compose clear meeting minutes to capture important discussions, decisions, and action items for internal calls, client/customer meetings, and conference calls. 
  • Develop content and budgets for bids and proposals in areas both similar to and different from currently managed projects.  
  • Provide guidance and support to junior project personnel regarding the responsibilities above. 


 

Requirements

Required Qualifications: 

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification 
  • Bachelor of Arts or Science degree 
  • Twelve (12) or more years of experience managing mid- to large-scale projects 
  • Experience managing federal contracts for consulting services in Health IT/Informatics, Public Health Informatics, Healthcare, or in another technical field and for multiple federal agencies.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills 
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • Ability to communicate and perform well in a distributed, remote work environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint 
  • Ability to work within a challenging environment with minimal direction 
  • Ability to manage cost, scope, schedule, quality, and technical performance for projects 
  • Ability to successfully complete a federal Position of Public Trust background investigation

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience managing projects that adhere to Trusted Exchange Framework and Common Agreement (TEFCA) standards 
  • Experience with public-health surveillance systems in state, tribal, local, and territorial (STLT) health departments 
  • Experience with project-management applications such as MS Project and Smartsheet 
  • Knowledge of process-improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and CMMI  
  • Experience with Agile scrum methodology and JIRA 
  • Current, completed federal Position of Public Trust background investigation

Salary Description
$100,000 - $130,000
