Our Infrastructure team is seeking a full-time Infrastructure Engineer II to join our talented & growing team of IT Professionals in Portland, Maine. Our Infrastructure team plays a critical client-facing role in delivering networking, security, and collaboration solutions.

Infrastructure Engineers work with and learn a wide variety of premier technology solutions including routing, switching, firewalls, and collaboration systems. Engineers work on the frontlines with hundreds of clients to design, implement, and maintain advanced technology solutions for small- and medium-sized businesses in northern New England. Engineers work to keep clients’ systems secure and reliable while also enabling the power of technology to help businesses grow. 

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a strong networking and firewall background, who has a desire to learn, and is committed to engineering excellence and exceptional client service. The right candidate will have outstanding problem-solving skills, be detail oriented and highly effective at decision making. An aptitude for learning new technologies and an ability to work both independently and as part of a strong team is essential.  

Responsibilities:

• Proactively identify, analyze, and resolve network, system, and performance issues.
• Assist with the implementation and integration of new technologies.
• Serve as a resource to proactively troubleshoot, diagnose, and remediate client IT problems.
• Develop SE standards and best practices guidelines. Ensure and participate in corrective actions as required.
• Create and maintain comprehensive network documentation.
• Work closely with account managers to design, refine, and present proposals to clients and potential clients.
• Act as a subject matter resource in one or more assigned technologies.
• Within specific areas of expertise, provide technical guidance and leadership to network administrators, LAN and WAN engineers, and account managers.
• Participate in 24x7 on-call support rotation.
• Obtain and maintain required certifications for partnership with key vendors.

What We’re Looking For:

• Associate degree in technical field and/or equivalent with a minimum of (5) years professional experience (3+ years in a service-based environment) is required.
• Possess current technical certifications from the following vendors strongly preferred: Cisco (CCNA or CCNP) and/or Fortinet (FCP or FCE).
• Experience with troubleshooting or installing Fortinet (FortiGate, FortiAP, FortiSwitch), Meraki, and Cisco technologies.
• Experience researching, implementing, managing, and troubleshooting network Infrastructure and solving problems on various networking and collaboration technology platforms.
• Knowledge of the OSI Model and other networking principles; broad knowledge of security including protection, detection, and incident response.
• Possess solid understanding and the ability to communicate how network technology and infrastructure can help achieve business goals.
• Possess strong client service, communication, and interpersonal skills, demonstrating a high level of professionalism.
• Be a great teammate, is accountable to assigned projects, and is results-driven to meet client needs.
• Effective critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills to obtain business solutions.
• Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills, ability to adapt to changing priorities, as needed.
• Must be able to work outside normal business hours. A valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required.
