The Hospitality Intern plays a vital role in the success of Crimson Tide Hospitality (CTH) by supporting the Hospitality Manager. The intern will work closely with athletic donors and other members of the athletics department. Interpersonal, multitasking and communication skills are necessary and should be developed throughout this internship. This is a great entry-level opportunity for program participants to gain hands-on experience in athletic event management and premium seating hospitality.


Internship Site:

Crimson Tide Hospitality office, managed by REVELXP, at Bryant-Denny Stadium.


Expectations:

The intern is expected to act in a courteous manner and dress presentably as he/she will be representing The University of Alabama Athletic Department and REVELXP. The intern is also expected to work closely with his/her immediate manager and keep the manager informed of any issues relating to donor/employee safety and satisfaction. The intern should understand that he/she will be perceived by donors and University staff as a management team member.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Learn and administer policies and procedures regarding admission, food and beverage, maintenance, and other premium area operations
  • Assist in managing designated premium areas on gamedays at every home Alabama football including supervision of student staff members
  • Serve as a liaison between Skybox Holders/Club Members and the catering staff and UA Athletics
  • Support the creation, editing, and distribution of game week Gameday Guides and staff newsletters
  • Preparing, organizing, and maintaining gameday supplies and materials
  • Preparing and managing premium areas on gamedays
  • Communicating with gameday staff members, athletic donors, and athletics personnel
  • Assist in executing University and external events held at Bryant-Denny Stadium
  • Performing general office duties
  • Deliver the finest hospitality and service by going above & beyond every day
  • Must be able to handle pressure and demonstrate a sense of humor while operating in a challenging environment where not everything is always completely under their control
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements

Requirements:

  • Commitment to all home football games (10-12 hours), men’s basketball home games, and other events as assigned (nights and weekends)
  • Undergraduate college degree preferred (or in progress)
  • Excellent communication skills, oral, and written
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to problem solve under pressure
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritizing skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Team player mentality
  • Dependable and dedicated work ethic
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Ability to be on their feet for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift heavy furniture, carry stanchions, etc.
  • Reliable transportation

Hours/Availability:

This position will require a commitment to all seven home 2023 football game weekends. Office hours range from 20-30 hours/week, depending on workload and game/event schedule. This is a paid position; the current pay rate is $14.00/hour.
