Vice President of Security
Description

Responsible for maintaining the security of the premises, people, and assets of GGP Parks as well as GKFF operating entities in the Tulsa Arts District. Plans, implements, and evaluates all aspects of protective services and security operations. Responsible for managing the system-wide Security Department budget while planning, developing, training, implementing and guiding goals and objectives. This position establishes auditing and inspection protocols to assess, identify, and mitigate any security vulnerabilities or gaps to ensure the physical safety and security of property and assets.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct all activities in alignment with principles and integrity of GGP Parks.
  • Design and direct the organization’s overall security program, including developing and issuing plans, policies, and procedures for security personnel, information security, physical security which encompasses physical access control systems, operations security, risk and crisis management, emergency response, guest management, security education and training and standardization of surveillance systems and capabilities.
  • Identify training needs as security protocols are expanded and then design and implement security training programs to educate employees on security plan, policies, procedures, best practices, and reporting systems.
  • Develop and direct the implementation of security operating practices, policies, and procedures across the division. Develop and monitor compliance programs.
  • Responsible for the monitoring of CCTV systems, access control systems, tracking software, and patrols for potential security risks.
  • Evaluate security trends, evolving threats, risk and vulnerabilities and applies tools and processes to mitigate risk as necessary.
  • Make conclusive, sound, high quality decisions on tactical security issues, accurately judging the urgency, response, and need for further evaluation.
  • Coordinate with state, local, and federal law enforcement agencies on all community-related law enforcement endeavors. Build and maintain superior relationships with peers, business partners and supporting law enforcement personnel. Conduct security evaluations and create and implement emergency response plans.
  • Maintain a positive, collaborative, and productive workplace environment by quickly identifying, engaging in, and resolving conflicts.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all internal affairs to include information pertaining to any guest, employee or business of GGP Parks and GKFF.
  • Prepare operational and situational reports for park leadership. Provide complete, timely and accurate notification and documentation of incidents.
  • Assess systems, alarms, and other physical security measures for effectiveness.
  • Cultivate organizational values and hold employees accountable to these values for a healthy, professional, and productive work environment.
  • Provide the vision and leadership for the team ranging from short term tactical steps to long term security objectives.
  • Initiates, facilitates, and promotes activities to foster security awareness within the organization.
  • Directs development and execution of a disaster recovery and business contingency plan.
  • Analyzes complex business needs and recommends security solutions to the Executive Team.
  • Maintain current knowledge of applicable federal and state security law, licensing, and certification requirements and accreditation standards.
  • Provide guidance and leadership of security team based in multiple locations and effectively oversee operating components including budget and projections.
  • Develop and enforce performance benchmarks, review department KPIs, and provide timely feedback and support to supervisors to help guide operational improvements and achieve defined.

  • Regularly works weekends, holidays, and non-traditional hours as dictated by the needs of the park.

Physical Demands:

  • Position engages in the following physical activities on a frequent basis: must be able to stand, walk, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and sit. Lift, carry, push and pull up to 25 lbs. on an occasional basis.
  • Use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus and ability to see and distinguish basic colors.

Computer Proficiency:

  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement or related field is preferred. Bachelor's degree in related field is preferred; however, equivalent experience in a similar position will be accepted.
  • Licenses/Certifications: CLEET, Certification by the American Society for Industrial Security as Certified Protection Professional (CPP) is helpful but not required.
  • Over Five (10+) years of leadership experience in Security, Law Enforcement, Military, Homeland Security, or comparable experience in a large scope property.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule that meets the needs of a 24/7 365-day operation, varied and long shifts including holidays, weekends and events.
  • Work both indoors and outdoors, exposed to a variety of weather conditions.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable through the park’s insurance carrier.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Oklahoma State Laws and Law Enforcement practices.
  • First responder skills/experience.
  • Bilingual skills.
