Christian Life and Diversity Assistant

Primary Objective: To provide organizational and administrative support, project management, and event implementation/set-up for the various programs, initiatives and events associated with Christian life and diversity.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Provide organizational and administrative support to the director including, but not limited to scheduling meetings, calendar management, coordinating the logistics of events, managing event RSVPs, external and internal correspondence, responding to requests for information, and follow up 
  • Draft, edit, and/or proofread written communications, reports, proposals, and materials 
  • Order office supplies and procure event materials, purchase orders, expense management, inventory, and program packets as needed 
  • Provide necessary support for the Christian life and diversity parent programs, including but not limited to Mondays with Moms, Parent Prayer, Parent to Parent, and Men’s Fraternity.
  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of all diversity and Christian life events, including but not limited to lunch and learns, student worship, chapel programming, evening events, trainings, prayer meetings, and parent programming 
  • Support the director in project management of diversity initiatives, including training, professional development, school wide events, and communication 
  • Research content and resources on Christian life and diversity topics or issues 
  • Document diversity incidents reported and addressed
  • Provides support for parent volunteers and ongoing activities that bolster our families to include parent studies and prayer in weekly communication/set up/venue access/signage and support 


  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university 
  • At least two years of administrative experience 
  • Needs to effectively communicate on behalf of Christian life and diversity
  • Possess strong communication skills (both oral and written), including excellent grammar and proofreading ability 
  • Excellent administrative, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment 
  • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and accuracy and consistent follow through with assigned projects 
  • Adept at social media and internet research 
  • Ability to relate and minister to students, as well as parents 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 
  • Demonstrates computer literacy and proficiency (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, email, Internet, and presentation software) 
  • Embrace a strong commitment to Christian education, academic excellence, and biblical worldview 

In addition, the person should: 

  • Commit to living his/her life under the lordship of Christ 
  • Model a consistent daily walk with Jesus Christ, and be a Christian role model in speech, actions, and attitudes, which contributes to the spiritual atmosphere of the school 
  • Believe and affirm the school’s Statement of Faith 
  • Commit to exhibiting Whitefield’s core value for our students to experience diversity that reflects the body of Christ and support the school’s diversity vision that aims at unity in Christ 
  • Demonstrate evidence of consistent spiritual activities such as worship at a local church, fellowship with the body of Christ, personal devotional time with the Lord, and individual study of scripture 
  • Evidence the fruit of the Spirit in the nurturing of relationships with other staff members, students, families, and the community at large 
  • Be actively involved in a local church

Work for this position will take place primarily in an office, and secondarily in a classroom. The physical demands of this position include lifting up to 10 pounds regularly, up to 25 pounds intermittently, and up to 50 pounds rarely; carrying up to 10 pounds regularly, up to 25 pounds intermittently, and up to 50 pounds rarely; climbing/balancing, kneeling, crouching, and crawling rarely; pushing/pulling, bending, and stooping intermittently; reaching, sitting, walking, and standing regularly. To perform this job the person must be able to work for extended periods of time at a computer/keyboard; must be able to talk, hear, stand, sit, and/or walk for extended periods of time; and must possess normal manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
