Description

Pelletron, part of Piovan Group, is the global leading supplier for dust removal systems for plastic processors and plastics manufacturers. Besides the plastics industry, the dedusting technology is also used in the food, mineral and recycling industries. In 2003, the company began to expand into the pneumatic conveying field and developed a new pressure conveying process, trade named pellcon3®. Pelletron has a wide range of pneumatic conveying components such as rotary valves, diverter valves and shut-off valves, specially designed for conveying of pellets and powders. The Pellbow®, a special pipe elbow, another Pelletron invention, is used in the plastics industry to prevent dust and streamers in the conveying process.


Role

The Process Engineer is responsible for technical processes in engineering contracts including process design, application, implementation, installation & commissioning, operation, and instrumentation. This position will report to the Director, Process & Quality Engineering and is located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Interface with Engineering to provide technical backup and process support for the project engineers;
  • Interface with Sales to provide specification review, system initial design support;
  • Generate sales PFDs/P&IDs. Produce Plant 3D models and 2D drawings, layouts, P&IDs, flow diagrams (PFDs), pipe routing drawings/piping isometrics, and various design calculations in support of project work;
  • Participate in internal and external (customer) project kickoff meetings as required to provide conveying system and DeDuster system technical expertise for Sales and Engineering;
  • Participate in system startups and commissioning activities and provide technical guidance in support of service engineers and field activities at customer job sites as required;
  • Help develop internal procedures, technical standards, and define best practices as part of the “Pelletron Way” of order handling;
  • Remain up to date on the latest innovations and trends in plastics/polyolefins production, pneumatic conveying, and dust removal (DeDusting) technologies.


Requirements

Qualifications and Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or related field);
  • Five (5) years of related experience and/or training in P&ID drawings, plant process development, and instrumentation; or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Proficient in AutoCAD P&ID or equivalent software package;
  • Experience with material handling and pneumatic conveying & electrical instrumentation background preferred;
  • Ability to read, interpret, and develop documents such as technical specifications, engineering reports, blueprints, office procedures, parts lists, and price book;
  • Ability to write routine correspondence;
  • Ability to speak effectively, both one-on-one and in groups with vendors, customers, and employees.
