It is the primary responsibility of the EEC Child Development Infant/Toddler Teacher’s Assistant to provide activities for children from 6 weeks to 2 years of age in the Early Education Center program, to comply with the overall procedures and policies of the program, and to be an effective witness for Christ.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Keep children safe and accounted for.
- Maintain behavior standards.
- Complete routine paperwork.
- Provide first aid and complete accident/injury reports, as necessary.
- Greet and monitor adults as they pick up children.
- Assist in daily clean up and closing of the program.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising teacher.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Child Development Assistant Teacher Permit or Higher or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of hire.
- Infant/Toddler class or ability to take class within the first year of hire.
- Ability to develop cooperative working relationships with coworkers and to relate well to all preschool-age children.
- Ability to support in the infant/Toddler program if needed.
- Must be able to bend or squat to attend to children’s needs. Able to sit on the ground as needed. Able to lift and carry a 45lb child to safety or in the event of a medical emergency. Able to push or pull a crib or stroller with multiple infants in an emergency. Able to visually supervise children and listen to them to maintain their safety in accordance with California State Licensing’s health and safety regulations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position’s duties are normally performed in a standard work environment based on the activity scheduled. Some physical effort is required; therefore, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. He or she may be required to walk or sit for extended periods and may be exposed to outside weather conditions, including but not limited to heat, cold, humidity, rain, and direct sunlight. Manual dexterity and coordination are required over 50% of the work period while operating equipment, such as a computer keyboard, mouse, calculator, and other similar machines.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Working conditions are dynamic. This requires the willingness to work a flexible schedule that may require occasional weekend and/or evening hours. The employee will be using his or her personal vehicle; therefore, he or she must hold a valid driver’s license in the state where he or she is based and have appropriate auto insurance as required by law. The employee needs to be able to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize work assignments, and do well under pressure. He or she must also demonstrate professionalism and integrity, take initiative, and exercise confidentiality. Finally, the employee must understand and apply all company policies and procedures, can follow instructions, and be detailed oriented, and have good follow-through on all projects.
