POSITION TITLE: Agronomy Chemical and Seed Warehouse Lead

LOCATION(S): CRC Region/Territory (Brownton Location)

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Agronomy Department Manager

POSITION PURPOSE:

The primary function of this position is to take responsibility of all seed and chemical warehouse activities and maintenance, assist the seed team lead with inventory management and product distribution in an efficient manner, and provide a high level of customer service.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain seed and chemical warehouses and all warehouse equipment
• Help maintain all seed and chemical inventories using proper procurement procedures established with the seed team lead and/or agronomy operations manager, taking responsibility for handling incoming, stored and outgoing product
• Utilize available storage space as efficiently as possible
• Maintain the condition and quality of seed and chemical products
• Apply treatment to seed according to specifications
• Be licensed and willing to help with delivery of all agronomy products
• Communicate effectively with agronomy department staff to ensure adequate inventory is available for prompt service and delivery
• Work with agronomy department staff to resolve customer issues
• Complete all related paperwork in a timely manner
• Know and follow all company safety policies/procedures. Perform work in a safe manner while observing all traffic laws and all OSHA state and federal safety regulations
• Comply with all federal and state Department of Transportation regulations
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on moving equipment operated. Report all maintenance items to supervisor
• Oversee and supervise agronomy operations staff on location; work with agronomy operations manager to develop and assign work tasks on a day-to-day basis for operations personnel. Report back to agronomy operations manager completion of scheduled work assignments and any concerns needing resolution
• Train new agronomy operations personnel as needed
• Represent yourself and the cooperative professionally at all times in action and appearance
• Develop and maintain positive work relationships with the agronomy team having a positive attitude that promotes teamwork within the cooperative
• Make decisions and follow instructions with little or no supervision
• Perform other duties as requested by supervisor or management

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma
• 2+ years of experience in agronomy operations
• Knowledge of farm seed and chemical products
• Must have a valid Class D driver’s license and be an insurable driver in accordance with property and casualty insurance guidelines. A Class A CDL is preferred, but not required.
• Ability to operate blending equipment, loaders, conveyors, tractors and semi’s
• Have availability to work extended hours during peak seasons
• Possess computer and data entry skills
• Must be able to follow directions and effectively communicate with others
• Must have strong time management and leadership skill.
• Agriculture background preferred but not required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Have the ability to lift up to 75lbs.; climb ladders and/or rail cars, stairs, and bins at extended heights; withstand extended periods of walking and standing
• May also be required to work in confined spaces
• Operational areas result in exposure to a variety of temperatures and prevailing weather conditions. This may also result in exposure to dust, odors, gases, vapors, wet or slick surfaces and loud noises. Where appropriate, wears personal protective equipment (PPE) in compliance with Company standards and governmental regulations
