Description
Business Development
- Identify, research, and evaluate new markets and partnership opportunities through direct prospecting, networking, and participation with various industries, community, and professional groups.
- Understand the art of strategic networking that maximizes the value of time spent. Understand the balance between networking with the need to “get work done”
- Identify potential projects prior to competitors and release of formal RFP’s or award process.
Leadership
- Collaborate and cooperate with leadership in the development of strategic business development initiatives.
- Advise various leadership groups within the firm on overall strategy for business development for applicable region and market(s).
- Strategic contributor to the annual review and strategy of the marketing plans for the market.
Financial
- Thoroughly understand GBBN fee structure and competitive positioning.
- Establish expectations with clients that lead to positive fee and contract negotiations.
- Collaborate with CMO and Market Directors to create annual business development plans that inform the annual firm budgeting process.
Requirements
- Experience in architecture, design, real estate, or related industry.
- Demonstrated business development skills and experience.
- Existing relationship network both with potential clients as well as consultants, developers, and other industry connections
- Excellent networking skills: ability to leverage relationships within the community and industry.
- Demonstrated success at building meaningful business relationships internally and externally.
- Exhibits excellent client relationship skills and behaviors. Treats clients as our most important partners.
- Naturally curious, always seeking new approaches.
- Proactive and engaged, ready to try new things
- A confident, insightful, and concise communication style.
- An outstanding presenter and communicator, able to clearly articulate Why GBBN and address client challenges.
