Description

Role Summary

As a Senior Excess Buyer at Rand Technology, you will take on a refined role in identifying surplus inventory opportunities and driving sales initiatives. Your responsibilities encompass a wide range of tasks, including strategic analysis, supplier relationship management, and cross-departmental collaboration. Your expertise will be crucial in maximizing efficiency and profitability within our excess inventory operations.

Essential Functions

  • Identify excess inventory opportunities and present them to the Sales team.
  • Perform advanced data analysis and administrative support on the platform.
  • Identify and qualify part numbers using online, internal, and external sources.
  • Enter/transfer information from various sources into a proprietary database.
  • Process/expedite/confirm/track purchase orders and follow-up.
  • Qualify new suppliers and develop supplier relationships.
  • Review open orders and obtain order acknowledgements.
  • Complete new customer forms and set-up in database.
  • Obtain price/lead-time quotes for services required.
  • Track invoices, PODs, CoCs, etc. 
  • Work with colleagues to resolve all issues and communicate all changes to appropriate personnel. 
  • Research, quote and negotiate supplier offers.
  • Request receipt follow-up.
  • Update requisitions upon stock confirmation.
  • Control and release supplier purchase orders accurately.
  • Communicate and collaborate with other departments looking to increase excess sales.
  • Maintain organized database reports with visually understandable inter-departmental deliveries.
  • Support and work in different administrative and project activities based on department strategies and daily tasks.
  • Handle additional projects/duties as directed.

Requirements

Education and/or Experience and Physical Requirements

  • 2-3 years of work experience (preferably in the electronic components/automotive industry).
  • Graduate bachelor’s degree.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
