JOB OVERVIEW

The Senior Analyst provides key financial support to Prospect Park Alliance’s Design & Construction (“D&C") and Finance teams. This position reports to the Director of Finance and will work closely with the Vice President, Capital & Landscape Management in administering and monitoring the financial systems, workflow processes, and activities that are integral to the operations of the D&C Department and which contribute to the ongoing successful operation of the Alliance. The person in this role is responsible for the billing, accounting, financial reporting, and budgeting for the D&C Department and KPI development and tracking for D&C as well as the entire organization.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / KEY JOB OUTCOMES

  • Prepare, submit, and track NYC Parks design and construction supervision fee invoices and monitor accounts receivable, following up on payment delays as necessary
  • Prepare, submit, and track NYC Parks Work Orders for capital projects, following up on approval delays as necessary 
  • Manage the procurement process for D&C and track Work Orders against the Alliance’s contract limit with NYC Parks
  • Work collaboratively with NYC Parks representatives to ensure that questions related to invoices and work orders are resolved quickly
  • Create, process, and manage consultant and construction contracts, review and process consultant and general contractor invoices, and track compliance with contractual insurance requirements
  • Track and monitor progress of fees and expenses associated with all capital projects
  • Oversee and administer the time tracking software used to track billable hours and to generate billing invoices
  • Collaborate with the Finance team regarding D&C-related accounting tasks that form part of month-end and year-end closings, including journal entries, reconciliations of accounts receivable, and application of cash receipts
  • Prepare quarterly forecasts and annual budgets for the D&C Department and track monthly progress towards achievement of these financial plans
  • Develop and implement a project management tracking system for capital projects, creating project timelines aligned with the budget assumptions and setting staffing assignments and priorities to ensure achievement of the budget commitment
  • Develop and maintain a database of key data and information pertaining to Alliance capital projects
  • Develop and monitor D&C KPIs and organization wide KPIs and cash flow projections and report on these monthly to leadership
  • Serve as the liaison between D&C, the Finance Department and other department leads as needed

Requirements

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
  • 5 -7 years’ experience in at least one or more of the following core areas: general financial analysis and reporting, project and/or contract management, accounting, budgeting, cash flow projections, and KPI development and monitoring
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience as an accountant for a nonprofit organization or public agency preferred

COMPENSATION + BENEFIT DETAILS

  • Job Grade: 4 (Managerial & Technical)
  • Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000 
  • Work Hours:  35-40 hours per week, minimum
  • FLSA Status: Exempt

*Salary offered will be based on a number of factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience
