We are currently looking for a Senior Estimator


Position Purpose:

Provide and coordinate full estimating services on small, large, and complex work and all types of projects. Must utilize company templates, forms and procedures to effectively and expeditiously transfer cost information to the designated construction team. Manage and coordinate other estimating team member’s efforts to do the same.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Review and incorporate historical data from purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc. into unit and man-hour figures
  • Review proposal specifications, drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
  • Provide complete conceptual and final estimating input on complex projects and IDIQ price proposals. 
  • Provide technical support to personnel preparing discipline estimates for assigned bids. 
  • Ensure all working documents and data are maintained to back up estimate figures.
  • Manage and coordinate designated pricing team members and technical team members to generate the cost and pricing data required to complete a price proposal 
  • Assist the contracting department during the preparation of inquiries and final evaluation of submitted bids as requested.
  • Track awarded contracts as required – may include estimating/pricing extra work items, change orders, credit; and/or procuring materials.
  • Prepare estimate buy-out and turnover templates for awarded projects and contracts.
  • Lead and coordinate the project buyout efforts.
  • Support the efforts to establish project controls for construction
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements

  

Education and Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management/Engineering and 5-7 years of construction-related experience; or
  • An Associate’s degree in Construction Management/Engineering and 7-10years of construction-related experience; or
  • A High School Diploma and 15 years of construction-related experience. 


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Ability to manage other team members assigned to estimating.
  • Ability to assume responsibility, interface, and communicate effectively with others. 
  • Thorough knowledge of construction concepts is necessary.
  • Thorough knowledge of company procedures, estimating techniques, cost control systems and accounts.
  • The ability to estimate all types of projects/contracts, plus the ability to coordinate and supervise group work is essential. 
  • Proficient in Sage, and Microsoft Office. 

Levels of Supervision:

  • Works under the direction of the Executive Director of Project Controls. 
  • Demonstrates ability to work independently and supervise other estimating team members.

Working Conditions


  • Must have the flexibility to attend pre-bid site visits or construction sites around the globe and conduct site visits for subcontractors to comply with RFP requirements
  • Light physical effort equal to frequent lifting or moving of lightweight materials. 
  • Regularly required to sit or stand, bend and reach.
