JOB SUMMARY

The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for supporting the Pharmacists by reviewing protocols and source documentation, handling drug preparation, and dispensing doses during clinical trials as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reviewing protocols and relevant source documents for study execution.
  • Performing pharmacy support services for clinical investigations.
  • Handling all drug preparation for clinical trials as needed.
  • Dispensing investigational products for clinical use as designated.
  • Completing drug accountability logs and ensuring source documentation is accurate.
  • Works under the supervisor of the Pharmacy Manager.
  • Works with site pharmacists, sponsors, business unit management, Principal Investigators, Sub Investigators, Clinicians, Project Managers, and Study Coordinators.
  • Assist with handling schedule II - V drugs.
  • Assists with the extemporaneous drug preparation, under proper supervision.
  • Attend study team meetings to discuss study-specific pharmacy requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Follows company protocols and procedures concerning all Pharmacy Activities, GCP, GDP, and all relevant CRU tasks.

 Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. For NYC, the salary range is up to $22.00/hr. 

Requirements

 

  • The position requires at least a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • In New York State – PTCB certification before or within the first 6 months of employment.
  • In New Jersey State – Active Registration with NJ Division of Consumer Affairs.
  • Must have previous retail or hospital pharmacy and/or compounding experience.
  • Must be able to work independently and have excellent communication skills.
