Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Follow all Bender Inc. Safety Policies and Procedures, as well as the safety requirements of our customers where applicable
  • Has ultimate responsibility for all sales functions and develops and implements sales strategies and policies that help the company meet its revenue and profit goals
  • Provide clear strategy and tactics for effective sales (service & product), business development, channel management, and account management functions
  • Establishes sales quotas, profit goals, and product mix expectations for the entire sales function and provides sales forecasts or related reports to senior management for use in strategic planning
  • Tracks actual performance against expectations and modifies strategies, territories, or incentive plans in response.
  • Improve product knowledge and sales support techniques
  • Works to influence code standards for Bender products in our market, including but not limited to National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA 99, UL, CSA
  • Provide effective leadership, ensuring Bender Inc. values and standards are driven appropriately across all regions
  • Leads and ensures accountability, performance development, continued improvement by providing support, guidance and coaching as necessary.
  • Builds a high performing and collaborative culture across departments and all regions and sectors
  • Provide career progression planning and mentoring to subordinates 
  • Provide high-quality management information on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis across performance metrics, sales/budgets/forecasting against plan
  • Enthuse, inspire and engage with all levels internally to bring the team together. Build on internal support for the growth of Bender Inc.

Other Duties

  • Provide competitive information such as bid situations, pricing data or bundling arrangements in order to establish negotiated pricing contracts 
  •  Work closely with the management team informing them of critical changes in the market


Requirements

Educational and Experience Requirements

  • 10+ years of successful experience in sales and business development 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university required; master’s degree or MBA preferred
  • Experience managing a high-performance commercial function that includes channel management, sales, business development and account management
  • Proven track record of successful and sustainable growth in a technical business
  • Proven track record of developing people and improving performance
  • Solid understanding and experience of the Bender Inc. route to market
  • Exceptional presentation skills
  • Customer service focus, entrepreneurial spirit, exceptional negotiation and sales ability
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with a natural ability to inspire others
