POSITION SUMMARY

Benedictine College invites applications from kinesiology and exercise science fields to apply for a full-time position in the rapidly growing Health, Wellness, and Exercise Science Department. This Assistant or Associate Professor position starts in August 2024. 


Main responsibilities pertaining to teaching:

  • Tests and Measurements (pertaining to Exercise Science and related fields)
  • Wellness for Life
  • Technique of Sport (individual or team)
  •  Foundations of Human Movement

Other potential courses to teach:

  • Physical Education curriculum (primary and secondary)
  • Adaptive Physical Education
  • Fitness courses (such as: Beginning Gymnastics, Weightlifting, Dance Classes, etc.)
  • Health Promotion and Leadership 
Requirements

  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Responsibilities include:
  • Teaching 12 credits of classes per academic semester
  • Actively participate in Department meetings and growth planning 
  • Serve as an academic advisor to Department majors and minors
  • Engage in appropriate faculty service.
  • Be willing to engage in course development for emerging skills


POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate should hold a master’s or terminal degree in exercise science, kinesiology, or associated fields. Doctorate degree preferred. Experience in a professional field strongly encouraged. Prior teaching experience highly desirable, but not required. Individuals with a personal and professional growth mindset are encouraged to apply.
