Stavros Center for Independent Living is Hiring for the highly specialized area of:

Skills Trainer This is a Full time 35 hours / week Benefits Eligible Position 

The Skills Trainer provides and monitors services for Consumers utilizing the MassHealth Personal Care Assistant (PCA) Program with duties including but not limited to: Intake and Orientation to the program, Assessments and Skills Training all with the goal of educating and assisting individuals with disabilities in order to acquire and maintain PCA services so that they will be able to effectively manage the program and live independently.

Requirements

As part of an ongoing agency wide effort, Stavros offers specialized training to ensure the Skills Trainers Staff members are well supported and regularly updated on the ever-changing MassHealth PCA regulatory systems. Skills Trainer's report to and are supported by Skills Trainer's Supervisors. 


Typical Job Responsibilities and Requirements Include but are not limited to:

  • Regularly Communicate in person and telephonically with Consumers to identify, address, monitor and review the needs and services of MassHealth PCA Members/Consumers and Surrogate's or Administrative Proxy's 
  • Provide Education, Skills Training, Assessments, Orientation to the Consumers and Surrogate's or Administrative Proxy's 
  • Remain informed about the PCA Regulatory systems and relay information to consumers. 
  • Efficient and Accurate Documentation to support the aforementioned services for Consumers and Surrogate or Administrative Proxy's 
  • Hybrid Work Schedule: Routine Travel to meet with consumers in designated areas, as well as allotted in-office days to complete desk related tasks i.e., data entry, documentation, addressing in-person and telephonic requests. 

Qualifications/ Required Skills: 

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills as well as basic computer proficiency
  • Be well organized, self-motivated, and have reliable transportation (includes Valid Driver's License and proof of insurance if applicable 
  • Be willing to travel long-distances (Within Massachusetts) and agree to a minimum of 2 office days as assigned.
  • Having a familiarity/ experience working with individuals with disabilities will be helpful.
