Quality Assurance Manager

Catania Oils is a family owned and operated business that has been around for over 100 years and through four generations. We are a leading packager and processor of edible oils located in Ayer, MA.  Our Mission is to provide innovative quality products to customers in an efficient, economic, and environmentally responsible manner. Quality Assurance Manager     



· Develop, manage, and implement HACCP and HARPC plan for entire   operation process (primary packaging, raw material, finish product, and   rework). Manage the HACCP team and facilitate monthly meetings.

· Manage CAPA process from creation to completion. 

· Manage the customer complaint process to include any CAPAs,   investigation, testing, and reporting.

· Manage and perform annual SQF Internal audits.

· Manage GMP’s to include compliance, auditing, and reporting.

· Coordinate investigation and disposition of hold product with   Quality Lab Manager and Warehouse Supervisor.

· Facilitate twice annual mock recall from initiation to close.

· Analyze and track CPO (Customer Perfect order) and work with   other to department for continuous improvement and meet/exceed company   benchmarks.

· Utilizes information systems for data management, regulatory compliance,   and reporting. Monitors appropriate measures to ensure quality of the   analysis and data and generates reports.

· Assist in cultivating a good Food Safety Culture within the organization by ensuring that compliance to SQF, GMP,   HACCP and FSMA standards is being maintained on the manufacturing and   warehouse floor.

· Continually drive the organizations standards for higher   quality standards.

· Provide back-up for the Director of Quality and the Quality Laboratory   Manager in their absence.

· Other responsibilities may be assigned by the Director of Quality.

· Manage pest control program.

  • Minimum of 3 years of Quality experience preferably in a food manufacturing  setting.
  • Minimum of  3 years of management experience.
  • Experience  working in GMP/GLP setting.



  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, or other related degree concentration,  or equivalent directly related experience (two years of directly food lab related experience is equivalent to one full-time year of college in related major)
  • SQF  Practitioner, HACCP certified


Training &/or   Certifications

Knowledge of HACCP, SPC, TQM,   FSMA and SQF Quality and Food Safety audits
