Job Summary

Impel is looking for a technical product analyst/owner for their Enterprise Integrations initiative. Impel views integrations with partners, vendors, and other 3rd party data brokers as a strategic focus of the company’s vision and wants to formalize and bring maturity to its technology and processes around integrations with outside entities within the Retail Automotive space. The integration partnerships include batch and transactional data interchange, Services and APIs, orchestration of services, validation and standardizing of data, building a common nomenclature, and publishing and reviewing documentation around services.

A seasoned technical product owner/analyst with some technical expertise is needed to bridge the gap between the functional nature of these integrations and technical specifications of the interfaces across applications and entities. Ability to use API frameworks to test and evaluate APIs, security, knowledge of endpoints and access points, JSON and XML and XSTD structures. Ability to map JSON to flat structures and CSVs, understanding of primary and foreign keys, ability to write basic scripts to parse blob fields and load RDBMS. Ability to query databases for data quality and integrity checks will be the skills needed on the technical side. On the functional side, ability to analyze application functionality to create workflows and data flow diagrams, high level block architecture diagrams around data integrations. Ability to decipher field level data in business context, data dictionary and semantic mapping from functional to physical columns. Ability to communicate effectively with product and functional domain experts, understanding of some privacy and information security regulations, understanding of SLAs and data volumes and translating that for engineers, etc.

Essential Functions of the Job

Responsibilities

• Reviewing technical API and integration specifications published by vendors and partners
• Provide a gap analysis of the functional needs of the data against the API specifications
• Run postman scripts to evaluate the APIs and sample data outputs
• Document and standardize linear definitions of Json or XML structures
• Document the SLAs, volumes and orchestration of APIs
• Provide functional specification and mapping to engineers from semantic layer to the payload
• Add data dictionaries and data quality rules to the mapping documents
• Maintain and manage the data dictionary and inventory and lineage of fields across integration end points
• Build domain knowledge in the Automotive nomenclature to facilitate definitions and mappings
