Donor Database Administrator


Job Description:  

The Donor Database Administrator will provide support for the development staff with emphasis on database management functions. The Donor Database Administrator will have primary responsibility for managing our newly migrated donor database, Bloomerang, ensuring efficiency and timeliness in processing donations and donor information, using best practice techniques to maintain optimal data integrity, and providing effective database management. Position will also be tasked with establishing and documenting administrative procedures and providing operational support to the development department as in the following:  

  • Development administration manages gift processing, receipting, pledge reminders as well as manage the timely processing of acknowledgement letters. 
  • Developing data standards and procedures as well as user guides to ensure clean and consistent data is entering the database system. Provide operational support to the development department. 
  • Conduct system tuning, performance monitoring, upgrades, and database maintenance to maintain database hygiene and accuracy. 
  • Troubleshoot problems, improve overall processes, and ensure deadlines can be met even during periods of heavy gift volume.  
  • Producing system outputs like gift acknowledgements, pledge reminders, and creating pledges and registration forms online. 
  • Participating in and assisting with fundraising and outreach activities. 
  • Assisting with donor communication, stewardship, and event coordination. 
  • Implementing a prospect research initiative. 
  • Create and maintain giving forms for direct mail, board member donor forms and others. 
  • Point person for list management for mailings and e-communications and provide logistical support with all donor mailings, capturing donor interactions in the donor database. 
  • Assist Finance Department with the execution of monthly reconciliation of donations. 
  • Support for annual giving campaigns including donation processing and donor acknowledgement. 
  • Create, maintain, and execute queries and reports that help evaluate the program and the success of the department’s efforts, such as giving level, renewal rates, pledge collection deadlines, recurring gifts, and other data for ongoing and campaign donors. 
  • Develop and maintain standard reports to list pull for direct appeals, solicitations, email campaigns, events.

Location:  Akron 

Salary:  $60,000+ DOE. Excellent working environment and benefit package.

  • Proven track record of managing data and CRM systems in a fundraising or related setting.  
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy. 
  • Proficient technology skills including Google, Microsoft Office Suite, and social media platforms. 
  • Organized, prioritize work, multi-task, and handle multiple major projects at once.  
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to start and resume work on projects, amid changing priorities, with capacity to meet deadlines. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or commensurate experience preferred. 
  • 3-5 years with CRM database experience preferred. 
  • Comply with Association of Fundraising Professionals Code of Ethics. 
  • Maintain integrity of Legal Aid identity. 

Salary Description
